Joseph Joe Michael Alfeche, age 62, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of Jesus Tuesday, May 24, 2016. He was born Jan. 21, 1954, in Portland, to Joseph and Jenny Alfeche. He graduated from Jefferson High School, followed by earning two degrees from Portland Community College - diesel service and electronics service technology. He married Kim Clarkson in 1984 and they had two sons, Andrew and Jonathan. Joe worked 15 years at Freightliner. He served faithfully in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for 31 years, the last 11 years of which he worked as a full-time air reserve technician. It was his dream job to do electronic work on the planes and helicopters. Joe received Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord at the age of 24. He was a committed follower of Christ and an active church member. His memorial service followed by a reception will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, at Hinson Baptist Church. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joes life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hinson Baptist Church, 1315 S.E. 20th Ave., Portland, OR 97214.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been requested to stand for Joseph Michael Alfeche, age 62. Joseph served from December 1975 to June 2007 as an Aircraft Communications and Navigations Systems Specialist and was honorably discharged at the rank of MSgt (E-7). He served in support of Desert Storm contingency (Southern Watch) in 1994 and Operation Noble Eagle in Utah during 2002. Joseph was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 1 device, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 5 devices, Air Force Training Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/M, and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 3 devices.
