Carol, 80, of Ludington, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016, at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington. She was born to Charles and Katherine (Roddy) Boreson and had been a lifetime Ludington resident and was a graduate of Ludington High School.

Carol married John O. Fargo, Sr., in Ludington on April 2, 1955.

Mrs. Fargo had a wide range of employment during her many years. She had worked at Star Watch Case as a teenager. Carol then was employed by the Stearns Hotel, the Star Light Drive In, waitress and server at the Patio, Young Toggs and finally retired in 1992, after 20 years of service, from Ludington Area Schools as an Elementery School playground and lunchroom aide. She served at Pere Marquette, Franklin and Foster Schools.

She was an avid bird lover, especially snow owls and animal lover, having parakeets, dogs Trixie and Murphy, cats Rusty and Tiger. Carol enjoyed flower gardening and having cookouts and picnics with family. She also enjoyed camping, with some of her favorite places being Ceton Creek, Sand Lake and Manistee National Forest.

Carol is survived by her husband: John Owen Fargo, Sr. one son: John O. (Nicole) Fargo, Jr. of Walhalla, MI; she also has five grand children, Rachel (Mike) Wright of Ludington,, Jeremi (Megan) Hill of Fountain, Linzie (Doug) Tiffany of Ludington, Kala (Marty) Stakenas of Freesoil, Carly (Brian) Lefler of Ludington; thirteen great grandchildren, Zoey, Gavin, Zaiden, Kendell, Macie, Amara, Jackson, Ethan, Dylan, Lee, Henry, Grace, Addison.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard Boreson, four sisters, Gerri Corbin, Fran Castonia, Bernice Wagner, and Barbara Heer.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Fargo will be Friday, June 10, 2016, at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Ludington with Pastor Norman H. Letsinger officiating. Interment was made in the Lakeview Cemetery. A luncheon for family and friends was served in the King Funeral Home Family Center.

The family requests that any memorials be directed to Mason County Humane Society.
