In her senior year, she received an award for the paper judged best in Louisiana on the subject, "How May the Pact for the Renunciation of War Be Made Effective." In 1934, she received her A.B. degree from Randolph Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, VA, where she majored in French. She studied at the University of Paris receiving the Diplome D'Etudes de Civilization Francois, Degrè Superieur. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Fischer; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gleeves Davis; and her sister, Mrs. William R. Hammond.
