Carol Joseph Allen, 87, St. John, Wash., died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, in Tucson, Ariz., at the age of 87. He was born April 5, 1921, in Equality to Hez and Mary Allen and was one of 10 children. He met Pansy Devine of Wasson and the two were married Dec. 21, 1938. They lived in Equality. He was drafted by the U.S. Navy and served during World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He worked on the Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Ariz. In Dalles, Ore., he worked on the John Day Dam and at Waitsburg, Wash., on the Little Goose Dam.
Carol was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy, of 69 years and two grandchildren. He is survived by his sister, Iva Ervin; children, Gloria, David and Ronnie; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandbaby.
