PADEN CITY, W.Va. — Kenneth Alan Hickman was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday (Oct. 18, 2006) at his home with his family by his side.

He was a resident of Paden City, W.Va. He and his wife, Kathryn, had spent their winters in Clerbrook Resort, Clermont, Fla., for the past 20 years.

He was born in Sistersville, W.Va., on Dec. 1, 1927, the son of the late Arza and Martha Lytton Hickman. He was a Protestant by faith. He retired as the shift administrator with Union Carbide, Sistersville, W.Va., in 1985, with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving are his sons, Jim Hickman (Len) of Bowling Broke, Ga., and Andy Hickman (Sheila) of St. Marys; his daughter, Barbie Turner (Scot) of St. Marys; his grandchildren, Scott Hickman (Patty) of Macon, Ga., Mark Hickman of Lady Lake, Fla., Jason Hickman of Summerville, S.C., Brooks Shippey (P.J.) of Edison, Ga., Drew Hickman of Bowling Broke, Ga., Jessie Turner (Dustin) of Middlebourne, W.Va., Luke Dillaman (Rachel) of Rockford, Ill., Doug Dillaman (Virginia) of Morgantown, W.Va., Matthew Hickman of St. Marys, and Marcie Turner and Ben Turner of Newport, Ohio; and his great-grandchildren, Justin, Christopher, Tiffany, Cana, Judah, Eden, Simone, Matthew, Elijah, Lydia and Kirsten.

Also surviving are his brothers, Bob Hickman (Marge) of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Joe Hickman (Seva) of Summersville, W.Va.; a sister, Mary Brewer (Carroll) of Edmond, Okla.; his sister-in-law, Martha Evans of Macon, Ga.; his brother-in-law, Stuart Evans of Sistersville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Katy; his beloved wife of 58 years, on Sept. 11, 2006; his brother, Jim; his parents; a granddaughter, Kathryn Ruth Hickman; and his great-grandson, Levi Turner.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home, Sistersville, where services will be 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will be in the Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City.
