Sylvia A. Shoener, 96, of East Brunswick Township, passed away Friday at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading.
Born in Cottage Grove, Ore., April 26, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Ada Downs and Butte Mooney.
She was the widow of LeRoy A. Shoener.
She was a graduate of Cottage Grove High School in Oregon. Sylvia served in the Army Air Corps as a sergeant in World War II and was stationed in Montana. She was a member of Christ Church, McKeansburg. During her life, she helped run the family farm.

She was preceded by eight brothers and sisters.

Sylvia is survived by three daughters, Elaine R., wife of Joseph Marelich, Lehigh Acres, Fla., Kathy M., wife of Ray Feher, Mohnton, and Jean L., widow of Leonard Vandzura, Sinking Spring; a son, Charles L., husband of Jean Ann Shoener, Wescosville; grandchildren, Carol and Joseph Marelich, triplets Dane, Dakota and Chloe Feher, Jessica Shoener and Amie and Laura Vandzura; a great-grandson, Auron Rangel.

A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ Church, McKeansburg, with the Rev. Sunny L. Stock officiating. Friends are invited to call the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Friedens Lutheran Cemetery, New Ringgold. Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. is honored to be serving Sylvia's family.
