Michael was born in Pine Grove, Schuylkill Co., Pennsylvania to Michael Bressler Sr. & Maria Barbara. His father had married the preachers daughter as he was the minister and had served as such in the Contential Army and Berks Co., Vol. Militia. His name was John Peter Hetzel & his wife was Anna Catherine Balmer.
Michael and Sarah Hawk's families belong to the same Church and both left for Ohio in 1807 when almost the entire congeration left for the men to collect their Rev War land grants. For what ever reason though, they followed them later, about 1830.
Michael & Sarah produced 9 children but even though we can name them all, only 5 are accounted for today.
