Robert M. Fife, aged 86 years, died Tuesday morning, April 14, at 10 a.m., at his home, 221 Hutchinson avenue. Mr. Fife was born in Upper St. Clair township, Alleghemy county, October 27, 1839. He was a farmer there until moving to Cannonsburg, 22 years ago.

In 1865, he married Miss Catherine Hendrickson. Mrs. Fife died six years ago.

He was a member of the Center Presbyterian Church and an elder there for 12 years. After moving to Cannonsburg, he has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Fife was the last brother of James Fife and the late Dr. T. M. Fife. He suffered a stroke of paralysis six years ago and has been an invalid since that time, taking worse nine weeks ago.

He leaves one son, S. H. Fife, two daughters, Miss Cora Fife, and Mrs. J. C. Hays, four grandchildren, Mrs. H. W. McMurray, Robert F., george and Dwight Hays, and two great-grandchildren, James Leroy Hays and Robert Wallace McMurray.

The death of Mr. Fife takes from the town and community one of its oldest citizens and one who was well-known and always very active and willing to give his time and influence for its best welfare.

Funeral services will be held at his late home Thursday, April 16, at 2:30 p.m., and will be conducted by his pastor, Rev. G. G. Kerr. Interment private in Oak Spring cemetery.
