George Croghan Gregg and his brother John visited their sister Rowena, then in Georgia. They met the Croggin sisters, married and moved to Pike County, GA in 1856.
George served in the 13th Georgia Regiment and was at/near Appomattox at the surrender on April 9, 1965. He died in Danville, VA on his way home. Some family records indicate he was killed in the Danville arsenal explosion about April 17, but he is not on the official list.

He was reported as buried in Danville, but specific location has not been identified.
