Mrs. Ruby Talley Tarr, 72, of 758 Day St., Galesburg, formerly of Monmouth, died Wednesday morning in Methodist Hospital, Peoria. She had been visiting two sons in Peoria when she was taken ill.

Ruby was born in LaHarpe, and was married there July 19, 1903 to John Talley. They resided in Henderson and Warren counties prior to moving to Monmouth in 1927, where John died in 1933. She then married Charles Marion Tarr, who also preceded her in death. She remained in Monmouth until about 1955, when she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Magee, of Galesburg.

Survivors include her daughter; four sons, Leonard of Feura Bush, NY, Vernon of Peoria, Ralph of Galesburg and John of Denver, CO; a brother, Milfred Alton of Peoria; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Helen Tarr) Farrington, of Monmouth.

The funeral was conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Lugg Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with Rev. Wesley Walters officiating. Songs were sung by Mrs. Arvid Johnson and Mrs. Glenn Jones, with Mrs. Ronald Swanson, organist.

Burial was in Roseville Cemetery, with the pallbearers being William and Lyle Inman, Marion and Marlin Skees, James Romine, and Algie Shawler.
