He grew up in Moody,Tx.and moved to Sweeny at the age of 9.He graduated from Sweeny High School in 1948.From the 8th grade through 12th grade, he lettered in football,baseball, softball, and track. Bill was the only five-year letterman to ever graduate from Sweeny High School.As a senior,he captained what is regarded as one of the greatest football teams in the school`s history.He will be remembered not only for his athletic ability,but also for his leadership,his fighting spirit and his will to win.
Survivors:wife,Evelyn Joyce;daughters,Linda Lincecum and husband,John; and Vicki Milian and husband,Richard;grandchildren,Wes Lincecum and wife Stacey,and Kyle Milian, Kirby Milian, Kaden Milian, and Karli Milian; 2 great grandsons,Grant and Grayson Lincecum.2 brothers,Melvin Wallace of Needville,TX.
And Joe David Wallace and wife,Vicky,of Eugene,Oregon.
Preceded in death by his parents; and brother,Charles Wallace.
Visitation for friends will be held on Friday,August 11,2006,from 6-8 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in West Columbia,TX.
Services:Saturday,August 12,2006,at First Baptist Church in Sweeny,TX.with the Rev.Jeri Watkins officiating.
