William ''Bill'' Robert Adkins, 86, of Shore Drive, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.

He was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Parksville, Tenn., a son of the late James Lewis and Ella Lucinda Belk Adkins.

He grew up in Badin, N.C., and was the retired owner of Hwy. 52 Curb Market. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1958 and was the widower of Edith Cavell Morton Adkins.

Survivors include four daughters, Billie Ann Barker of Cary, N.C., Edith Cavell Cole of Myrtle Beach, Beverly Morton Shue and her husband, Grady, of Albemarle, N.C., and Jane Cole and her husband, Wayne, of North Myrtle Beach; a brother, Wade L. Adkins of Albemarle; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stanly Funeral Home in Albemarle.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Stanly Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
