JOHNSTOWN — GALUSKA – Bertha Rose, 90, Johnstown, died Feb. 5, 2013, at the Presbyterian Home. Born March 28, 1922, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Simon and Nellie (Tilley) Eckenrod. Preceded in death by husband of 62 years, George M. Galuska; sisters, Jeanette, Stella, Martha, Mary, Georgina and Alma; brothers, Albert, Joseph and Walter; and daughter-in-law, Vicki (Partsch) Galuska. Survived by children,3 sons & 1 daughter, 14 grand- children; and 8 great-grandchildren, also sisters, Florence Freidhoff, Johnstown; and Nellie Conlin, Columbia, Pa. Bertha was an active member of St. John Gualbert Cathedral and Senior Citizens, where she was a member of Senior Serenaders and various other organizations. She also was an avid bingo player. Friends received from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 1521 Frankstown Road. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, the Very Rev. James F. Crookston, officiating. Committal, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
