Louise Tressia (Becker) Tucker was born Dec 23, 1931 in Murray, AR and departed this life on June 1, 2016, at the age of 84 years, 5 months, 9 days in Bunker, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Jessie Self Becker. Preceding her in death was an infant son, sister Janie Becker Hart, three brothers, Herbert, Ben, and Roger Becker and half siblings, James, Lucian, Effie, Maime, Glenn, Frank and Lottie Becker.

Louise was wed to Luther Tucker on July 3, 1948 in Bunker, MO and he preceded her in death on Oct 29, 2007 after 59 years of marriage. To this union five children were born. Charles (Diana) Tucker, Carolyn (Donnie) Barton, both of Bunker and Marilyn (Nick) Wright of O’Fallon, MO, and David (Nene) Tucker of Ellington, MO.

She is also survived by four siblings, Agnes Becker May of Waterloo, IL; Betty Joy Becker Kelsaw of O’Fallon, MO; Roy (Sandi) Becker of Red Bud, IL and Donald (Ruth) Becker of Arnold, MO. Three sister-in-laws, Wanda Becker of Farmington, MO, Gloria Baker of Salem, MO and Rosa Lee Young of Salem, MO.

Louise was grandmother to 10 grandsons and great-grandmother to 17 great-grandsons and seven great-granddaughters.

At a young age, Louise accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized. At her death she was an active member of Crossville Baptist Church in Bunker, MO. She helped decorate for the holidays and maintained a flower garden by their church sign for several years.

Louise worked for the Bunker School district from 1963 until her retirement in 1991, first as a custodian and then a cook. After retirement, she took painting classes and then taught classes in her home. She also learned how to do basket weaving and chair caning and loved canning and making jelly. Her many interests also included tracing her family genealogy which led to her involvement in the Historic Bunker Union Church and Museum where she was a member of the board and the go to person for information on people and places relating to the history of Bunker. Her contribution and wealth of knowledge will be greatly missed.

Louise was known by many names. To her siblings, she was known as L. T. and they or their children were the only ones allowed to call her that. She was called Louise by her friends and co-workers. Her children called her Mom, but she was also affectionately called “Lucy” by her son-in-law Donnie and Momsie by her daughter-in-law Diana. Her grandchildren called her grandma and her great -grandchildren called her Grandma Louise and many people called her friend.

Her place as matriarch of the family will never be filled in the same way and we will miss her deeply.

Visitation: Friday evening at McSpadden Funeral Home in Bunker from 6 to 8 PM, viewing will also be starting at 9 AM Saturday morning at Bunker Union Church.

She will be laid to rest in the Bay Cemetery in Shannon County, MO on June 4, 2016.
