Mary Nell (Aderholdt) Smith, 85, died on May 26, 2016 in Florida. She is survived by her daughter, two sons, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eskell L. Smith; grandson, Caleb Roger Evans; parents, Calvin Dean Aderholdt and Bertha (Nelson) Aderholdt; brothers, C D Aderholdt and Nelson Aderholdt; sisters: Ruth Wilkins, Virginia Fleming, Hazel Bain and Lela Mae Wilson. She was the founder of Jewell's Friendly Tax Service, which she owned and managed until she retired in 2007. She was a charter member of the 49th Street Baptist Church. After retiring in 2007, she moved to Lakeland, Florida where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. Funeral: 12:00 p.m. June 3, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
