He was a gardener, and was particularly proud of his annual crop of yellow tomatoes. He also loved to visit friends in the neighborhood, and always had a friendly wave and word for passers-by. He retired after more than 30 years as a mechanic for the city of Johnstown. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Pastor Alice Tondora. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Since Lester loved cars of all kinds, visitors are encouraged to wear car memorabilia. The family suggest donations be made to the 7th Ward Ambulance Service or the First Presbyterian Church.
