LaVerne E. Keeling, 106, passed away peacefully, surrounded and comforted by family, at Skyline Health Care Facility, San Jose, CA on May 30, 2016. LaVerne, born October 1, 1909 in Tonopah NV, the second child born to Florence and Henry Thompson, graduated 1925 from San Jose High School. She managed her successful catering career and was best known for her signature "sandwich loaf." In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery and ironing. LaVerne was kind, generous, thoughtful and loving to all who met her. She opened her heart and her home to many over the years. LaVerne had four children and was survived by her daughter, Sharon, son, Gary, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, four great great children, and one god child. Final resting place will be Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, San Jose. Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
