Alfred R. Scioli, 95, passed May 26, 2016 in Hanover Hospital. He was born on October 30, 1920 to Joseph and Angeline (Pangaro) Scioli.

He has gone to join his siblings Leonard J. Scioli, Lena Scioli-Lucchese, and Adeline Scioli-Schmehl and is survived by his sister, Helen Scioli-Zillhardt and his extended family of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews.

He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, where he served in the Pacific from March 30, 1942 to December 1, 1944. He worked as a Freight Checker and Fork Lift Operator at the Olmstead Air Force Base from 1946 to 1967 at which time he retired due to the closing of the Base.

He spent many years traveling throughout the U.S. by car, motorcycle and airplane, which he owned and piloted on many solo flights. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who take comfort in knowing he lived a good, full life and is now at peace.

Service will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 11:30 am in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Viewing will be from 11 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
