Mrs. Martha Gainous Died Early Wednesday
Mrs. Martha Gainous, 72 years of age, wife of J. W. Gainous, well known over the county, passed away at the home of her son two miles south of Cairo shortly after five o'clock Wednesday morning. She had been in failing health for several months. Bright's disease being the cause of her death.
Funeral and interment were in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and Cemetery at ten o'clock Thursday morning, the services being conducted by Rev. T. E. Davenport, of the local Methodist church.
The deceased had been a member of the Methodist church for many years and she lived a quiet, Christian like life. She is survived by her husband and five children: three girls and two boys.
This grave is unmarked. It was not surveyed or possibly illegible at the time of the the survey for the "Cemeteries of Grady County, Georgia" published in 2006.
