Erma R. Cornbower

Erma R. (Rohrbaugh) Cornbower, 91, died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover. She was the wife of Amos W. Cornbower who died in 1974.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 47 Hanover St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Richard W. Lowe officiating. Viewings will be on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Irwin Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow the service in Jefferson Cemetery.
Born November 3, 1913 in Manheim Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. Rohrbaugh and Alice E. (Hetrick) Rohrbaugh.
Mrs. Cornbower was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Jefferson and a former member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Manheim Township.
She retired from the Menges Mills Market where she was employed as the store clerk.
Erma was a member of the Spring Grove Area Historical Preservation Society, and a former member of Jefferson Chapter # 3699 AARP and the Spring Grove Area Senior Citizens Group.
Mrs. Cornbower is survived by four sons, Francis E. Cornbower and Mark E. Cornbower both of Hanover, Laverne R. Cornbower of Lemoyne, and Dean L. Cornbower of East Berlin; three daughters, Lorretta L. Brillhart of Jefferson, Lyrian F. Schuchart of Hanover, and Nova J. Gingerich of Spring Grove; 21 grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and three step great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Lettie M. Rohrbaugh, Effie E. Bollinger, Sadie V. Shue, Mary A. Kaltreider Day and Mamie M. Rohrbaugh; and a brother, Charles E. Rohrbaugh.
