Mr. Ben Farrow Castellaw, “D-Daddy” age 85 of Bells, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Humboldt General Hospital.

He was born October 16, 1930 in Fruitvale to the late John Ed and Pearl Castellaw.

Mr. Castellaw proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. For the majority of his life, he was a truck driver and later spent years as a crossing guard for Bells Elementary School as well as delivered meals on wheels to local residents for the City of Bells.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Carolyn Bradshaw Castellaw; two daughters, Debbie Bradshaw and Donna Herndon; one brother, J.E. Castellaw; grandson, Chase Bolding and great-granddaughter, Paige Coffman.

Survivors include his son, Bill Bradshaw and wife Betty of Bells; two daughters, Carolyn Legions of Memphis and Dianna Lovelace and husband Kenny of Bells. Other survivors include his grandchildren, Lacey Pigue, Montana Smith, Chris Holden, Teresa Cobb and Bill Bradshaw, III as well as his great-grandchildren, Noralai Pigue, Nancy Cobb, Janie Cobb, Lily Bradshaw, Emma Bradshaw, John Miller Pigue and Dylan Holden.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Bradshaw, III, John Pigue, Brandon Smith, Tommy McLemore, Junior Jordan and Terry Harrell.

Funeral services for Mr. Castellaw will be conducted Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Bells Funeral Home with Bro. William Harrell officiating. Burial will follow in Young’s Cemetery in Gadsden with Military Honors. The Castellaw family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from Noon until the service hour.
