Richfield, Utah - Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, George Kimberly Blackett, age 82, of Richfield, passed away May 27, 2016 in Richfield. He was born April 24, 1934 in Cedar City, Utah, a son of George Walter and Jessie Irene Salisbury Blackett. He graduated from Cedar City High School Class of 1952.

Kim married Marie Henrie, August 16, 1958 in Cedar City. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple, July 23, 1960.

In 1966, Kim moved his family to Richfield to take over the family business, Blackett Cleaners. He ran the cleaners for 35 years, serving many people in the central Utah area. Kim was also an Independent Paint Contractor for over 30 years.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving is many different callings. He enjoyed going to the Temple.

Kim helped to organize the Richfield Swingers Square Dancing Club. He liked to take his family camping, hunting and fishing on Cove Mountain. He loved to watch the Utah Jazz - Go Jazz!!!

He will be missed.

Kim is survived by his wife of Richfield; two sons: Kim and Carol Blackett, and Paul Blackett, all of Richfield; 6 grandchildren; Dixie Atkinson, Krista and Wesley Burr, Cody and Laura Blackett; Caden Blackett, Jeromie and Amber Blackett; Kirk Blackett; 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son, Larry Lee; grandson, Rayan Larry; his father, George Walter Blackett; his mother, Jessie Blackett Gardner and his step-father, Thurman A. Gardner.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Richfield East LDS Stake Center, 805 North 500 East in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. or at the Stake Center, Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
