The Rev. Allen L. Harriger Sr., 63, of Manor Township died Friday (May 17, 2002) in his home.

He was born July 25, 1938, in Manorville.

The Rev. Harriger was an Army veteran.

He was pastor of Curry Run Reformed Presbyterian Church in Shelocta and a laborer at Castle Rubber in Butler.

The Rev. Harriger was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Vandergrift.

He enjoyed camping, baking and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Judith Anne McCollim Harriger; three sons, Allen L. Harriger Jr. of Ford City, Gary W. Harriger of Aliquippa and Dennis S. Harriger of Kittanning; a brother, William K. Harriger of Mercer; and two sisters, Agnes (Richard) Buzard of Manorville and Hope (Lynn) Millward of Colver, S.C.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Tabitha Genta and Brandon and Caleb Harriger.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rachel Lin Harriger, and his parents, Kenneth and Frances Donhiser Harriger.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the WELCH FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Jack Peters of Mount Union Bible Church in Valley Township and the retired Rev. Rodney Murray co-officiating. Burial will be in Ford City Cemetery, Manor Township.
