Millicent "Millie" A. Elzinga, 85, of Kalkaska, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. She was born on August 9, 1927 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Stephen and Ellen (Doan) Flood. Millie married Edward A. Elzinga on December 9, 1949 in Bay City, MI. Together they moved from Lansing in 1953 to Kalkaska to make their home. Millie retired from Kalkaska School as the school health nurse. Her hobbies included golfing, fishing, gardening and crafts. Millie was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Millie is survived by her children, Greg (Carrie) Elzinga of AuTrain, Edward "Chip" Elzinga II of Houston, TX and Beth Boudreaux of Fife Lake; her grandchildren, Rebecca Meredith and Warren Meredith; her nephews, Alan and Jeffrey Flood, Kent, Chris, Russ, Mark and Beau Elzinga. Proceeding Millie in death is her husband, Edward; her brother, Arnold; and sisters, Marion, Florence, Frances and Alice. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:30 pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Chad Hoover officiating. Memorials may be given to Munson Hospice House, 1105 6th Street, Traverse City, MI 48684 or St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2470 Beebe Rd NE, Kalkaska, MI 49646.
