She was born in Rosebud, Texas, to E.C. and Mary Jane Goode Law.
She graduated from St. Paul School of Nursing, Dallas, Texas. She served two years in the Army Nurse Corps as a 1st Lieutenant stationed at Madigan General Hospital in Washington State during 1962 and 1963. She retired in 2013 as a registered nurse with Satilla Regional Medical Center after 22 years of service. She was a member of Saint Andrews Anglican Church in Douglas, Georgia.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, JoAnn Slocum, and a son, James Barfield.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Curtis W. Barfield, Jr. of Waycross, a son, Chris Barfield of Waycross, and a daughter, Becky Barfield of Ogden, Kansas, two brothers, Mike Law (Kelly) of Dallas, Texas and John Law of Raleigh, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends at Miles-Odum Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 28.
A graveside service will be held Saturday morning at 11 am at Oakland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, Ga. 31501.
