Hiran Ray Drake was born Nov 25, 1898, and died Jan 9, 1927, age 28 years, one month and 15 days.
He was married to Leona Pearl Meeks Oct. 21, 1922. Three children were born to this union, Ivan three years old; Ray Jr., one year old, and Leola Fae, seven weeks old.
He leaves his wife and children, father and mother, four sister, and three brothers to mourn their loss.
Mr. Drake's illiness was contracted while working in the oil field recently, and his death occurred at his father-in-law's home, five miles south-east of Perkins.
Funeral services were held in the Christain church here, and the internment in the Perkins cemetery.
A large audience attended both services, bespeaking the high esteem in which he was held by his friends and neighbors.
