The marker was broken at some point. Only the top portion remains & is buried with only part of the top visible. The only letters visible are _ANDE(R) F(R)_. Fortunately he's buried next to his wife Jane & son William, making piecing together his history possible.

Alexander, born in New York about 1806, married Jane McCall in 1831/in Canada. The couple had at least five children in Canada: Mary, Nancy, John, Elizabeth & Simon. In 1842 or 1843 they immigrated to the US, stopping briefly in Michigan (where daughter Jane/Jennie was born) before settling in Plato, Kane Co., IL in 1844 where their last two children were born (Thomas & William). Alexander lived until at least 1865. No further records found.

The 1850 Plato census is the most complete record, listing the couple with their ten known children. The census has a few errors: their surname is listed as Frasier, wife Jane's given name as Pam, and POB for their five oldest as Illinois instead of Canada. The 1855 Plato census ("Frazer") shows them as a family of 7 (daughter Nancy already married, unclear which other two were not included). The 1860 Plato census ("Frazier") shows the couple as "A" & Jane (correct) with five children at home: oldest daughter Mary, Elizabeth & Simon (all born in Canada), Jennie/Jane (MI) & Thomas (IL). Missing are Nancy (already married), John (on his own) & William (already dead in 1859). The 1865 Plato census for A Fraser shows a household of 3 males & 2 females.

Of his children:
1). Mary (1833 Canada- ?, fate unknown after 1860)
2). Nancy (1834 Canada- ?) m. John C Fletcher (1833 Canada- ?) on January 2nd, 1855, Kane Co., IL, with whom she had one son: George E (Nov 1855 IL). The couple appear in the 1860 & 1870 Plato, IL census & the 1880 Rochelle, Ogle Co., IL census (listed as Agness) (Last record found for Nancy. John may have moved on to South Dakota (1900) but was back in Sandwich, IL in 1910 living with his daughter-in-law Christiana). Son George E (who in 1870 was listed with his aunt Elizabeth Kingsley) married Christiana M Kent on October 5th, 1881, Chicago, IL. They lived in Minnesota & North Dakota (1900 Duluth, MN census) & had five children, though Chistiana & kids were in Sandwich, IL in 1910.
3). John H (Dec 1836 Canada- ?) m. Margaret J Miller on April 18th, 1866, Kane Co., IL. The couple were living in Plato, IL in 1870 but moved west to Hiawatha Co., KS (1880 & 1900 census)(last record found) & had five children: Edwin, John, Lillian, Kenneth & Carroll
4). Elizabeth (Jan 1839 Canada- Nov 1905 KS, #68625871) m. Christopher (Anglicized from Christian) Kingsley (1839 Germany/Prussia) on September 11th, 1866, Kane Co., IL. The couple settled in Howard Township, Elk Co., KS & had one known child: Eva (1874 KS).
5). Simon (Oct 1840 Canada- KS) m. Alma Eulalia Greene on February 22nd, 1867, Kane Co., IL. (In the marriage record Alma's name is transcribed as Alina or Alena). The couple had two girls in Illinois (Blanche & Alice) & then moved to Brown Co., KS where they had five more children (Nellie, Ralph, Edna, Lloyd & Mark). Simon died sometime between 1920-1930 (probably in Hiawatha, Brown Co., KS). Alma was alive (& widowed) as of the 1930 Hiawatha census.
6). Jane/Jennie (1843 MI- ?, fate unknown)
7). Thomas A (28 Mar 1845, Plato, IL- 5 Aug 1917, Neoshol, KS, #99397592) moved to Kansas where he married #1 to Grace E Whitaker on May 9th, 1876 in Wilson, Co., KS. Grace (#39669076) died just two years later. Thomas then married to #2 Anne Campbell (#18581935) on December 25th, 1879, Wilson Co., KS. The couple appear in the 1880, 1900 & 1910 census for Chetopa, Wilson Co., KS. They had two daughters: Jenna & Elizabeth "Hetty" (Charles) McDonald. Thomas is not buried with Anne.
8). William (1848 IL- 1859 IL))
