Eugenia Becton Harbaugh Kinston-Eugenia Becton Harbaugh, 97, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2016 at Magnolia Cottage Care. She was the youngest child of the late William B. and Lillie Bryan Becton of Lenoir County. She graduated from East Carolina Teachers College and worked as a secretary for the FBI in Washington, DC until her retirement. She was always faithful to her job because you could never get her to tell you any secrets she knew from working there. She had a quiet and gentle nature about her with a big heart and always had the sweetest smile. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram Harbaugh, her parents, and her siblings, Jarman Becton, Mildred Venters and Louise Rouse. She is survived by two step-children, Dickie Harbaugh (Mary Ann) of Mechanicsville, MD and Linda Wolfe (Lloyd) of Pinopolis, SC. She is also survived by a nephew, Gregory Rouse and her nieces who were devoted to her after she moved back to N.C. and in her last years, Gwen Rouse Humphrey, Janet Rouse Johnson, Susan Becton Moody and Gilda Becton McKinney. The family would like to thank Magnolia Cottage Care, Sherry and Jeff Griffin and a special thank you to Ginger, Margaret, Deborah and Sarina. You are all special caring Angels. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Pinelawn Memorial Park with Pastor Mike Whatley and Reverend Claude Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to Woodington United Methodist Church, c/o Gwynn Rouse, 4079 Liddell Road, Seven Springs, NC 28578. Garner Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
