Mrs. Laura Alice Parker Woodard, 79, of Houston, TX, died this morning in a Houston Hospital following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in the Elkhart Methodist Church. Rev. Collin Furr will officiate and burial will be in the Pilgrim Cemetery, Elkhart, TX.
Mrs. Woodard was a former Elkhart resident and was a member of the Elkhart Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. "Rin" Woodard, on Oct 18, 1939.
Survivors are one son, M.K. Woodard of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Oscar (Wanda) Broughton, Jr., and Mrs. Joyce Patrick, both of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Irena Bennett of Elkhart; five grandchildren.
The body will arrive in Palestine tonight and will be at Hassell & Foster until 3 p.m. Friday when it will be taken to the church for service.
