He was born Feb. 27, 1942, in Providence to the late Samuel Romeo and Helen (Brooks) Nolette. Joseph was an avid bowler and golfer, as well as being active in the Vernon Senior Softball League.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Samuel Romeo and William D. Nolette; his siblings, Patricia Schortmann, Helen Landry, James Nolette, and Norma Nolette; and his grandchildren, Austin, Andrew and Leandra Nolette.
Relatives and friends may join the family Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road (Route 195), Tolland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at 11 a.m., at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Road, Ashford. Burial will follow at Willington Hill Cemetery.
