Mrs. Barbara Ann "Mott" Welch, 71 of Montgomery, LA passed away on May 21, 2016 at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center.
She was bom on September 17,1944 in Natchitoches to the late Hargrove and Bernis Gongre.
Barbara worked for many years as a caregiver to others. She loved being with her family and enjoyed putting puzzles together with anyone willing to help her. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden as well as bream fishing when she was able. Crafting was something she loved to do and she was so great at it. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and everyone who loved her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Welch.
Survivors include her four Children: Clay Welch (Sondra Hale) of St. Maurice, LA, Curtis Welch of Montgomery, LA, Connie Welch Pharris and her late husband, Mark “Shakey” Pharris of Madisonville, KY, and Kevin “Boss” Welch (Sheryl) of Natchitoches, LA. Grandchildren: Taylor Welch of Pineville, LA, Jessica (Justin) Johnson of Verda, LA, Lance Welch of Montgomery, LA, Daniel Welch of Montgomery, LA, Natasha (Gary) Ashley of Dodson, LA, Brittany Plunkett of Montgomery, LA, Jamie Plunkett of Montgomery, LA, James Plunkett of Montgomery, LA, Kaitlyn Pharris of Madisonville, KY, Brandon Pharris of Madisonville, KY, Kristen (Tony) Procell of Natchitoches, LA, Brittany (Aaron) Procell of Natchitoches, LA and Colten Alexander of Natchitoches, LA. Funeral services will be held at Northside Baptist Church in Montgomery, LA on May 23, 2016 with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. and services starting at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Keith Dickens officiating.
Burial to follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Wheeling, LA under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Pallbearers will be, James Plunkett, Lance Welch, Daniel Welch, Colten Alexander, Gary Ashley, Justin Johnson and Cruz Welch.
