The family physician, Dr M.C. Sapp and the hospital corps gave him all the medical attention that could be desired but all to no avail. His deserse could not be controlled and he pssed away at 7 pm Saturday evening.
His remains were prepaired for burial and carried to the family home where they were constantly attended by the Knights of Pythias of which Order he was a devoted member.
Many friends called to pay their last respects and the floral tributes were beautiful. Handsome designs of lillies, roses, hyacinths, jonquils, narcissus, calla lilies, carnations of every hue in sprays and clusters were sent by sympathizing friends from all over the state to express their sadness of the sudden taking away off of this beloved young man who was a native of Cameron and who had last September reached his 25th birthday. The hearts of many friends were bowed down in sorrow and a large concourse gathered at the Presbyterian Church where the funeral services were conducted by Rev B.B. Blaylock and Rev H.C. Willis Sunday afternoon at 4 pm The interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Milam Lodge No 125 Knights of Pythias laid his body to rest with their beautiful ritualistic ceremonies.
