Christopher D. Ahillen, 47, of Bloomington, passed away at 4:38 p.m., Thursday, May 19,2016 at his home. His funeral will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at St. Patrick Church of Merna,Bloomington with Rev. Gregory Ketcham officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m.,Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. and from 10:30-11:30 a.m., Thursday at the church. Interment will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Tessa Ahillen Education and Care Fundc/o Heartland Bank and Trust. Chris was born January 4, 1969 in Overland Park, Kansas, the beloved son of Raymond and Barbara Cukierski Ahillen. He married Betsy Wargo on July 5, 2003 in Bloomington. She survives.He is also survived by his daughter, Tessa Ahillen; his father, Ray (Mary) Ahillen of Florida; 3 step-siblings, Niki (Charlie) Petersen of Bloomington, Melissa (Brett) Papoccia of Bloomington and John (Rachel) Watterson of Springdale, Arkansas; his parents-in-law, Ed and Barbara Wargo of Streator, 2 brothers-in-law, Ted (Carolyn) Wargo of Streator and Matt Wargo of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ahillen.Chris received his bachelor degree from Illinois State University in 1997. He worked and consulted with Midwest Exchange and Monster Pawn. He worked for 16 years at ISU as an IT Technical Associate.Chris was an avid musician and music enthusiast. He played guitar in several local bands over the years including Honest Engine, Spider Webster, and Wilhelm. Chris loved all things electric, blinking, flashing, or on fire.
