Mr. Austin was born April 11, 1889, in Paw Paw, the son of Miriam VanDorn and L.B. Austin.
He was a lifelong resident of this area, a retired farmer, and a member of the First Presbyterian church.
Survivors include his widow, Myrtle; two daughters, Mrs. Williard (Marion) Rock and Mrs. Lloyd (Lyola) Wilson, both of Kalamazoo; two brothers, Walter of Paw Paw and Leo of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Oliver Ketchum of Paw Paw and Mrs. Leland Barr of Detroit; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Thompson funeral home. Burial will be in the Wildey cemetery.
