Her husband, Douglas Evans (a native of North Carolina), was in the military, and the family moved around quite a bit. Margaret suffered from diabetes, and that is what eventually took her life. She died in the US Army Hospital, Fort Lee, Virginia, at only 38 years of age.
She left behind a loving husband and 6 young children: Douglas (Sonny), Doris (Susie), Verna Lee, Alfred, Lillian, & Johnny. Margaret was also survived by her siblings: Charles, Frank, Catherine, Johnny, & Leonard.
She was preceeded in death one brother, Alfred, and is buried next to him.
