Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Cassie Jean died Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Muleshoe, Texas. She was born May 3, 1919 in Vine Prairie community, Crawford, County, Arkansas to Boyd Formby and Maggie Pierce Evans Formby. She married Willard C. Benham in Fort Smith, Arkansas on November 29, 1939.

Cassie Jean attended College of the Ozarks, Clarksville, Arkansas and graduated from Oklahoma A&M, Stillwater, Oklahoma. She held teaching certificates in three states, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. She taught public school spanning five decades, retiring in 1984. Cassie Jean was active in Classroom Teachers, Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas Retired Teachers and Silver Haired Legislature.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard in 1995; her daughter, Nancy Carol; her parents; siblings, Jim Earn, Jack Evans and Maggie Elizabeth Brownlee;

Survivors include, her son, Jack Benham and his wife, Nancy of Muleshoe, Texas; her two daughters, LaVelle Hawkins and her husband, Tommy of Lubbock, Texas and Linda Bunga and her husband, Theodore of Beaverton, Oregon; her sister, Peggy Sue Mason of Alma, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Diane Glumpler and her husband, Robert, Leslie Garcia and her husband, Gil, Chris Bunga and his wife, Lorna, Elilzabeth Bunga, Kendra Hinson and her husband, Austin, Bobbie Black and her husband, Tyler and Sara Wykoff and her husband, Owen; and seventeen great-grandchildren
