Sandie (Befus) Nahmens peacefully passed away May 15, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare in Janesville after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Sheboygan, Sandie grew up in Madison, graduating from East High School in 1959. She became a proficient and valuable Executive Assistant providing her organizational skills to a number of businesses in the Madison area, Elkhart, IN, and the last 22 years in Janesville. Her last position was with Rock County Child Support where she provided dedicated support and services to the county, families and children. Sandie will be remembered and loved for her ‘bigger-than-life’ personality, enthusiasm to champion for the underdog, her granny square afghans, her love of family, movies of all kind, hot air balloons, picture puzzles, and her realized dream of seeing the world while floating under a parachute. She is survived by her children; her forever friend and ex-husband; her extended Nahmens family. She was preceded in death by her mother Nettie Befus Ballard, father Harvey Befus, step-father William Ballard, and her very dear friend Carl Paul Treat.
