Wife of Shirley Horace Allred
Isabella Scheld Tuttle Allred, died September 2, 1985 in Salt Lake City at the age of 93.
Born March 19,1892 in Quincy, Illinois the youngest child of David and Henrietta Jarand Sheer. Married Elmer Scheld June 23, 1910. Sealed in Salt Lake Temple on June 23, 1959. Mr. Scheld died in 1962. Married Hoswell Tuttle in 1968. He died. She married Shirley Allred in 1974. He also preceded her in death. Joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in March 1926, moving to Salt Lake in1928. An active member, serving as YWMIA President, taught in Seminary and Relief Society, later a member of Relief Society Stake Board. After the death of son, David in World War II, she devoted much time to patriotic and civic work spending nearly 3,000 hours hospital service in the V.A. Hospital. Helped organize Utah Chapter of Gold Star Mothers of World War II. President two time in 1942 and 1963. President of Patriotic Council of Women. On board of Salvation Army. President of Council of Women. Selected to "Hall of Fame" in 1958.
Survived by: one daughter, Mrs. Vernal (Virginia) Tippetts; five grandchildren, Richard, Maynard, and Carlyle Tippetts, Jacqueline Chambers and Ann Cullum; three step-great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 4th 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call Friday one hour prior to services. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
