Loving mother of Jessica (Matthew) McGrogan, Joshua Givens, and step-mother of Matthew Whitworth, Nicole (Edward) Bennett and their children Caleb and Sarah, and Meghan (Robert) Landgraf and their children Dylan and Abigail.
Cherished daughter of Eugene and Nancy West.
Dear sister of Steve (Karen) West, Kathie (Kent) Hutchison and Marjie Dood.
Beloved aunt of Zachary and Sarah West, Adam and Ryan Hutchison, and John, Christine and Anna Dood.
Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, who were always made to feel loved and welcome at home and at the cottage on Big Bass Lake.
Graduating from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Carol was a CPA and was employed for 32 years with the IRS. Specializing in large business and international taxation, she was the manager of Revenue Agents in Ohio and Michigan, and cherished the many friendships developed over a successful career from which she retired in 2013.
Courageously, Carol fought a five year battle with pancreatic and ovarian cancer.
In state at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 W. Ten Mile in Novi, Michigan on Monday September 8th, 10 AM until time of funeral liturgy at 11 AM. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, 4100 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509 at 11 AM on Tuesday September 9th.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gleaner's Food Bank, Forgotten Harvest or Catholic Charities of Michigan.
