She was a native of Haywood County. She was the daughter of the late William and Eliza Bailey Lindsey. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers Lowell, Albert, Bill, Frank Lindsey and Harrison Ford and 2 sisters, Bobbie Rogers and Agnes Smathers. She was employed by Broadway Hosiary Co., as a knitter for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Grady Shelton of Asheville. In addition to her husband she is survived by a sister Jewell Driggers of GA, a brother Elmer Lindsey of Rockford, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2:00 pm Monday, October 1, 2001 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. Entombment will follow in the Pisgah View Memorial Park Mausoleum.
