ASHEBORO - The Rev. William T. Burke, 94, of Asheboro peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013.

Mr. Burke was born Sept. 15, 1919 in Randolph County to Addison and Maggie Burke. He was a former minister at Biscoe Baptist Church.

Mr. Burke retired from Klopman Mills of Biscoe, was formerly employed with Acme McCrary Corp and was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Asheboro. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Mason Burke; son, Roger Burke; grandson, William B. Allan and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by sons, Eddie Burke and wife, Karen, of Raleigh, Billy Burke Jr. and wife, Rachael, of Burlington; daughters, Debbie Burke of Asheboro, N.C., Ann Sargent and husband, John, of Liberty; grandchildren, Kristy Bishop and husband, Joseph, of Raleigh, Jennifer Casas and husband, Felix, of Asheboro, Teri Hulin and husband, Mike, of Liberty, Alan, Michael and Wendy Sargent, and Kevin and Paula Burke; 14 great grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; sister, Bronna Phillips and husband Ted of High Falls; special friend, Jean Housand; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, Oct. 28, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, and other times at the home of Debbie Burke, 201 Dundee St., Asheboro.

A graveside service will be held Monday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m at Randolph Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Stines officiating.
