She was born in Friendship on oct 15 1883 a daughter of William Abel and Ida (Lanpher) Hosley. She graduated from Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls and then worked in New York City for a brief time as a milliner. On Nov 30 1901 in Belmont she married Charles N Dean who died in May 1947. After her husband's Death Mrs dean completed a course in residency management at Purdue Univerity during the 1950's she was a house mother at State University of New York agricultral and technical college at Alfred for several for several years. She was a member of St John's Episcopal Church and was a charter member of both the church she was a member for the Catherine Schuyler Guild of the DAR she was an honorary member of the Alfred University Chapter Theta Theta Chi National Sorority she is survived by a daughter Mrs Nelson A (Virginia) Potter of Wellsville four grandsons eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews there will be no visitation funeral service will take place at ST Johns Episcopal church at 2:30 pm sunday with the Rev William P. Dodd Jr.
