Mishawaka, July 23

Mrs Paul Scheffler was shot and killed last evening by a lady companion of a party of 12 who had reached Eagle lake and were preparing to go into camp for a week’s outing.

The woman held the rifle as she stood up in the boat. The craft overturned suddenly throwing the woman into the lake and causing the discharge of the weapon.

Mrs Scheffler died within a few minutes and the entire party returned to the city with the body, abandoning the pleasure trip.
