Helen E. Eaton, 87, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Herbert E. Eaton.
Born July 19, 1928 in York, she was a daughter of the late Claud R. and Vada S. (Cave) Ehrhart.
She was a former member of the Salvation Army and a life member of the White Rose Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 556 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Eaton is survived by two daughters, Nancy J. Wykle of Mount Wolf, and Susan M. Stevens of Malvern, Ark.; four sons, Lester F. Eaton of Dover, Robert L. Eaton of York, Thomas E. Eaton of York Haven, and Larry R. Eaton of Manchester; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert L. Keister of Dover, and Charles B. Keister, of Mount Wolf. She was also preceded in death by two sons, James L. Ehrhart, and Raymond E. Eaton; three sisters, Loretta Adams, Patricia Knudson, and Dora Wagner; and a brother, Jesse Keister.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at The Semmel Chapel of Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes and Cremation, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Don Alspaugh, officiating. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the family to assist with expenses.
