Born April 13, 1927 in Sedalia, she was a daughter of John and Ethel Florence (Knisley) Mitchell.
A long-time member of the London Church of Christ in Christian Union (CCCU), Martha had worked as a nurses' aide at Madison County Hospital, retiring in 1990.
Survivors include her children, Sharon (Randy) Rice of Tenn., Kim (Joe) Richey and Dan Guthrie, all of London; grandchildren, Tina Haynes, Suzy (Stas Pyslarou) Guthrie, Courtney Rice, Emily (Kevin) Montgomery, Jennifer Nolan, Julie (Jason) Travis and Taylor (Dazi) Parker; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Dick (Dorothy) Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd "Toots" Guthrie; grandson, Jon Michael Nolan; brother, Ed Mitchell; and sisters, Lois Hisey and Sally Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14 in the London CCCU with Reverend Lee Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Paint Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 13.
