"The death of Jennie Huntington, widow of the late Norman L. Mason, occurred at her home on Glen avenue, at 12:30 o'clock, Thursday afternoon of last week, following a ten days' illness of heart trouble. Mrs. Mason was the daughter of Mason and Harriet Huntington and was born at Middlefield Center, January 30, 1841. On October 4, 1858, she was united in marriage with Mr. Mason and they came to Cooperstown to reside something over thirty-five years ago. Since that time she had made her home in this village where she was loved and respected for her many fine qualities of mind and heart. She was a woman whose true Christian character and high ideals have been felt by all with whom she came in contact during her many years. She was a life-long and active member of the Presbyterian church. Mr. Mason's death occurred January 23, 1918. Surviving is one son, Charles H. Mason of Cooperstown, who has the sincere sympathy of all in his bereavement, and by two nieces, Mrs. L. M. Barnum of Cooperstown and Mrs. Elmer Boorn of Oneonta, mother of the Rev. George C. Boorn, pastor of the Universalist church of this village. The funeral was largely attended from the home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Edward C. Petrie officiating. Interment in Lakewood cemetery." [The Freeman's Journal (Cooperstown, NY), Apr. 1, 1925, Page 4]
