Mary Sorrell Dent, age 77, of Mt. Brook, died Friday, November 14, 1997.
Survivors include: Sally Chew Summerall, Susan Sorrell Webster, daughters, of Mt. Brook and Elliott Dent Colebeck; six grandchildren, Bonnie Grayson Chew, III, Molly Chew Orcutt, Lewis Sorrell Chew, Amanda Richardson Martin, Frank Tompkins Richardson, IV, Joseph Rosson Richardson; and four great grandchildren.
Mrs. Dent was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and attended Bennett College in New York. She was the widow of Elliott E. Dent, Jr. and the daughter of Sally Sparrow Sorrell and Dr. Lewis E. Sorrell, the founding physician of the Radiology Department of Norwood Clinic.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 16, at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church (address). Services are under the direction of
Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood.
