B. Blain Bradford passed away May 7, 2016 from complications from Parkinson's Dementia. Blain was born Dec. 9, 1924 in Blanding, UT to Sylvester and Thora Bradford. He grew up in Blanding with 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Blain graduated from San Juan High School. During World War II he joined the Navy V-12 program at the University of Colorado, graduating as an Ensign. At the close of the war, Blain was called to serve an LDS mission in the Eastern States. While serving, he gained a fervent testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his work. This testimony led him to a life of service to his Heavenly Father which included Scout Master, Teacher, a beloved Home Teacher, Bishop, and over 20 years as a Temple Worker.
After his mission, Blain returned to the University of Colorado where he met Dorothy Weston. They were married July 15, 1949 in the Manti Temple. Blain graduated with degrees in Engineering and Business Management.
Blain's greatest concern in life was how he could serve others. His wife, children, and their families were the center and focus of his life.
Blain is survived by his wife Dorothy, his children Margaret, LuAnn (Robin), Blain (Barbara), Barlow, daughter-in-law Gayle, 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, a brother Cleal (Nancy), a sister Betty Ann (Edwin), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Scott, his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
Blain's family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving and tender care he received from Meleane, Kalesita, Eva, Loa, and family in the last weeks of his life. They also wish to thank Horizon Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 13 at the LDS church located at 97 W. 7500 S. in Midvale, UT. A viewing will be held that same day from 9:30 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.
