Margie Belcher was born on Apr. 27, 1935 in Parksville, Boyle Co., Kentucky. She was the daughter of Dewey David Belcher (1900-1937) and Lena Victor Honaker (1909-1979).
Margie's father, Dewey, was born in Russell Co., Virginia. He was the son of Ulysses Grant "Asa" Belcher (1869-1930) and Mary Alice Shepherd (1870-1958), both born in Russell County and both buried in the Wilson Cemetery in Boyle Co., KY. Dewey died on Jan. 12, 1937 and he too, was buried in the Wilson Cemetery.
Margie's mother, Lena, was the daughter of Oscar Honaker (1859-1938) and Mary Ann Thompson (1865-1939), both born in Honaker, Russell Co., VA. Her older sister, Fannie Honaker (1898-1924), was Dewey's first wife. Lena was just 27 when her husband, Dewey, died. After his death she moved back to Russell Co., VA.
Margie, who was born premature, lived only two days. She was buried in the Wilson Cemetery. While Marcie's life on earth was brief she will spend eternity in Heaven.
