James Joseph "Jim" Atkins is the son of Emanual Green & Mary Jane Tittle Atkins. Jim married Nettie Wayne Masters 05 Oct 1899 in Pocahontas, Walker, AL. The couple had eleven living children: Lillian Mae, Ruby Jane, William Columbus "Dick", Lucille, Paul, James Joseph, Jr., Frances, AC, Nettie Margaret, Christine & Willodene, all of whom have passed. Jim died of "Black Lung" disease, having worked in coal mines most of his life in and around Carbon Hill, AL. He was a quiet man, a man who loved to sing & worship God.
